Gene Taq NTは、Thermus aquaticus YT1のDNAポリメラーゼ遺伝子をクローニングし、大腸菌にて発現させ、分離精製した耐熱性DNAポリメラーゼである。天然型Taq DNA ポリメラーゼと同じ機能を有しており、通常のPCRに使用できる。また、ターミナルトランスフェラーゼ活性を有しており、得られたPCR産物はTAクローニングに使用することができる。

＜単位の定義＞	1 unitは、activated calf thymus DNAをプライマー/鋳型として74°C、30分間に10nmoleのデオキシヌクレオチドを酸不溶性沈殿物に取り込む酵素活性とする。
＜形状＞	20mmol/l Tris-HCl(pH8.0), 100mmol/l KCl, 0.1mmol/l EDTA, 0.5% Tween20, 0.5% TritonX-100, 1mmol/l DTT, 50% Glycerol
＜純度＞	本酵素10 unitsと1µgのλ/Hind III digestとを74°C、1時間反応させてもアガロースゲル電気泳動のパターンに変化は認められない。
